FAQ

What geographical area do you serve?

Boudoir session photography is offered in New York City.

I travel often for destination weddings and engagement sessions for my parent brand - Jakub Redziniak Photography. Travel plans are announced on social media accounts: @blvckfoxstudio and @jredziniak

I would like to gift an album, how far in advance should I plan?

Throughout most of the year, it is recommended to do your session at least 45-60 days before the day you would like to gift the album to your significant other.

We will need to book a location, coordinate outfits, book hair/makeup, do the session, place your order 1-2 weeks after your session, and then wait 2-3 weeks for your products to come in.

If you are looking to gift for Valentine's Day, I recommend shooting around November or early December as this is the most popular time of year for this type of photography.

How much does a boudoir session cost?

This is like asking how much for dinner at a restaurant. It depends! Some opt for an appetizer, entree, dessert, and a few drinks whereas others just come by for a quick lunch.

The majority of clients purchase an album with at least 20 images which starts at $2250; however collections start at just $1000

Please visit Resources > Pricing in the navigation menu to view available collections.

Do you provide hair and makeup?

I am more than happy to provide you with my most recommended hair and makeup artists. Their services are not included in the cost of my services and you would book them directly yourself.

Can I have hair and makeup done on-site?

It is recommended to arrive with hair/makeup ready.

Session locations are rented for just the amount of time we need to use them for your photo and/or video session.

If you would like to extend the location booking time to accommodate extra time needed for hair and makeup, please let me know in advance and I will keep you informed of available time as well as additional costs to extend the booking time. This will vary by location.

Do you have a client wardrobe?

While I do not supply a client wardrobe, I encourage you to bring your own selection of outfits that make you feel confident and beautiful.

For advice on outfits, styling advice, and recommended lingerie shops and brands, take a look at the wardrobe section in the Blvck Fox Studio Boudoir Prep Guide linked under "Resources" in the navigation menu.

How many pictures will I receive?

For a 1.5 hour session you can expect to review about 40 images for your selection purposes. The amount of images that you receive and take home will depend on your selections and choice of image collection.

Where is your photo studio located?

I do not have a photo studio. All sessions take place in rented studios, hotel rooms, Airbnb's or private locations supplied by clients.

This allows every session to be completely unique. Shooting in the same studio every week would result in a monotonous and cookie cutter quality of work.

I have an extensive list of exclusive locations available only to paying clients which I've spent a lot of time scouting and researching.

How long does it take to receive my images?

You will be able to make your selections within 10-14 business days of your photo session.

You will place your order the day we meet to make your selections. After your order is placed, physical products typically arrive within 2-3 weeks.

Products can be shipped directly to you free of charge within the continental U.S.A, or you can schedule a time to personally pick them up.

Do you photograph other things as well?

Yes! I have been photographing weddings since circa 2015 and was even recently recognized as Runner Up for Best Wedding Photographer in NYC by the New York Wedding Awards!

What type of editing and retouching is included?

All of your purchased images will be edited and receive a minor retouching treatment by default, with an option to purchase extensive retouching on any image you wish in addition to this service.

Editing covers global adjustments that correct for exposure, contrast, and color saturation to create the style you see throughout the portfolio.

Minor Retouching is a more detailed and precise operation that would cover delicate skin smoothing, minor blemish removal (a couple of pimples, a few stray hairs, etc), and teeth whitening. As a general rule, I do not remove birth marks or scars unless specifically requested, but I might lighten their visibility so they do not distract from the main focus of the image.

Extensive Retouching (which is billed additionally by request) includes taking care of larger blemishes such as bruises or considerable areas affected by acne, smoothing armpits, removing larger or more prominent stretch marks, neck lines, skin folds, more than 5-6 fly-away hairs per photo, or even body shape modification. We can also enhance some of your makeup, such as adding a smokey eye look or removing shine from your skin to some degree.

Editing and minor retouching is included with every purchased image.
Extensive retouching is billed extra at an hourly rate depending on the complexity of the task.

What is your rescheduling policy?

Sometimes life gets in the way and we need to change our plans.

Once you are booked in, your session location gets reserved which is non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled.

For this reason, the rescheduling fee will be equal to $300 or the cost of the rental location chosen, whichever is greater. Once your rescheduling fee is paid we can move your booking to a new date.

Can I tan or spray tan before my session?

Spray tans are HIGHLY DISCOURAGED. More often than not they photograph very orange and can also stain sheets.

Natural/outdoor tanning often leaves tan lines, retouching of which is NOT included.

The best option would be using tanning beds and gradually tanning starting a few weeks prior to your session; keeping in mind not to wear anything that would leave tan lines.
